There are two main variables in the breast. One is volume and the other is skin envelope. Different combinations of these two variables create different aesthetic surgical requirements.
Unlike breast reduction surgery, tissue is not removed in breast lift surgery. The breast is lifted.
A prosthesis is only used to add volume when there is a lack of volume in the breast. A prosthesis is not used to give a beautiful shape to the breast. Removing the existing breast tissue and replacing it with a prosthesis of the same volume is not a correct approach. Existing breast tissue can be shaped like a prosthesis.
The sagging breast tissue is lifted upwards along with the nipple and shaped. The excess skin envelope is reduced, giving the breasts a more aesthetic appearance.
It is recommended to use a corset for one month after surgery. The corset limits the edema caused by the surgery and speeds up recovery. Returning to social life is possible one week after surgery.
