Eyelid aesthetics is an aesthetic operation that we perform to reduce the effects of aging around the eyes and regain our youthful appearance.

Aging has many effects around the eyes. Eyebrows move downwards, excess skin occurs in the upper lid. The fat pads behind the eyes and the tear gland form a bulge forward. These changes in the upper lid cause you to look tired and old.

Lower lid dynamics differ from the upper lid. Due to aging, the lower lid becomes loose, bags under the eyes appear and excess skin occurs, although not as much as the upper lid.

In young individuals, the outer part of the eyes is positioned higher than the inner part. Due to aging, the outer part of the eye moves downward. This angulation is also corrected with eyelid aesthetics.

Eyelid aesthetics can be performed on the lower and upper lids simultaneously or separately. The surgery is performed under general or local anesthesia. The changes due to aging mentioned above are corrected. While the surgery is performed by making an incision over the fold in the upper lid, there are two different approaches for the lower lid. Either an incision is made under the eyelashes, or an incision is made from the inner part of the eyelid facing the eye, which will not be visible from the outside.

Eyelid aesthetics are performed by surgeons who are interested in aesthetics around the eyes and who are familiar with the anatomy of that area.

It is not correct to generalize that the best eyelid aesthetics are performed by ophthalmologists or plastic surgeons. What is important is that your doctor is competent and experienced in this field. A doctor who gives you confidence is the right choice for you.

Frequently Asked Questions
