The inner lips have important functional tasks in the female genital area. They act as the external barrier of the vagina and protect it from external factors. Their extensions cover the clitoris and balance the level of sexual pleasure.
The fact that the inner lips (labia minora) in the external genital area of women are larger than normal creates a cosmetically undesirable appearance. In normal anatomical structure, the inner lips do not exceed the outer lips in size. In terms of color, the inner lips are lighter in tone than the outer lips. The inner lips being larger than the outer lips and having a darker tone in color is a cosmetically undesirable situation. In addition to cosmetic concerns, this situation creates hygiene problems and a tendency to infections. When wearing clothes such as swimsuits and tights, a puffy appearance occurs and causes discomfort. These complaints reduce self-confidence and sexual pleasure, significantly reducing the quality of life.
When performing labiaplasty surgery, care should be taken to preserve the functional properties of the labia minora. It should not be viewed as merely an aesthetic surgery. Labiaplasty surgery can be performed under general or regional anesthesia. The surgery takes approximately one hour. In the technique we apply, we remove the excess tissue on the inner lip. Since the excess tissue on the clitoris is also removed during the surgery, sexual pleasure increases after the surgery.
In addition to the large inner lips, sometimes there is also a loss of volume in the outer lips. In this case, in addition to the labiaplasty surgery, fat injection can be added to the outer lips to add volume.
