The most well-known of facial rejuvenation surgeries is facelift surgery. The aim of face and neck lift surgery is not to tighten sagging skin. The main aim is to restore the appearance of the face to its youthful state as much as possible.
Wrinkles and under-eye bags form around the eyes. Volume loss and downward displacement occur in the cheek area. Sagging and fullness occur in the jawline. Sagging occurs in the neck area. The main purpose of facelift surgery is to correct these changes and restore the old appearance of the face.
When we evaluate these techniques individually, they do not have any superiority over each other. What is important here is the problem-focused approach. Correct detection of changes that occur due to aging on the face and interventions that are aimed at the problem are important. Another issue is the fact that the technique that the surgeon is used to is the best. While one technique gives good results with one surgeon, another technique gives good results with another surgeon. Two surgeons may reach the same result by different paths.
The skin is lifted by entering through an incision made in front of the ear. The necessary touches are made to the layer called SMAS, which protects the facial structures under the skin. Technical differences in face lift surgery are due to the different approaches made to this SMAS layer. Sagging structures in the neck area are also pulled back up. When intervening in the neck area, sometimes an additional 3cm incision may be required under the chin.
Facial rejuvenation should be considered as a whole. When a person needs a face lift, neck lift, eyelid aesthetics and temporal lift surgeries are usually combined with this surgery. In this way, a better result is achieved.
