Loss of elasticity in the skin with increasing age results in excess skin and sagging subcutaneous tissues. Sagging skin especially on the edge of the chin, in the neck and cheeks may disturb people. This causes the individual to look old, tired and sad.
Subcutaneous tissues that have been displaced downward by lift surgeries are repositioned to where they should be, and excess skin is removed. In this way, disturbing sagging skin and skin accumulation in certain areas of the face are corrected.
The downward displacement of the cheeks causes the nasolabial and under-eye lines to become prominent, while sagging skin on the edge of the chin distorts the natural aesthetic appearance of the face. The lines in the forehead, droopy eyebrows, sagging skin in the neck and jowl area may cause discomfort. All these deformities due to aging are corrected by lift surgeries.
The surgical process…
The operative time ranges from 2 to 4 hours depending on the extent of the surgery. Depending on the needs of the patient, face lift, forehead lift, neck lift or a combination of these surgeries can be planned. Patients are usually discharged one day after the surgery.
Will there be any scar after the surgery?
Since the excess skin will be removed from the front of the ear in face lift surgery, an incision extending upward from the front of the ear into the hairline is made. If neck lift will be performed, the incision extends from under the earlobe to the neck. In forehead lift, a longitudinal incision is made in the area where the forehead and hairline intersect depending on the extent of the surgery. A scar is formed after each incision made. However, the scars appear to be as good as possible since they are planned in accordance with anatomy. At the end of the first year, the scars become visible only to plastic surgeons. After the surgery, a special dressing is applied. The dressing is opened the next day and no extra dressing is applied. Bruising rarely occurs after the surgery. Edema begins to form one day after the surgery and increases to maximum within one week. Then, 80% of edema resolves within one month. It is necessary to wait 6 months to evaluate the final outcome.
Routine follow-ups are planned as the first week, first month, third month and the first yea
